Kiefer and the Boo Boo

Kiefer was helping Daddy show how the new fence works. But he walked up the side of the house and there was a HORRIBLE accident!

Better to let him explain...with a little help from Daddy...

(And if you want the FULL story, start with the posts bottom up with the one entitled "Kiefer and the new fence")

Chicken...

And then since Mommy was making such a cool looking chicken on the BBQ, I thought that I would show that on the blog as well!

Now, pay attention because Mommy does confirm that Kiefer did indeed fall down on his little jaunt down the side of the house.

Which leads to a video I have entitled "Kiefer and the Boo Boo"...

Mommy and the new fence!

So then after Kiefer goes through the fence, I thought I would take a nice wide shot to show the length of the fence run which allows Bailey to run behind the metal shed and keeps him in the back corner near Daddy's office!

Now pay attention because as I do, Mommy heads after Kiefer...

Kiefer shows the new fence!

So this is the new fence that Grandpa Pierre and Daddy built in the backyard to keep the dog and his business out of Kiefer's play area. And Kiefer of course mastered opening and closing the door after like the first day.

So, I thought it would be good to use him to demonstrate the fence! He goes through no problem...but then looks back mischievously as he decides to walk up the side of the house in his crocs. Or as they have been come to be known in our house "my wat-ah shows" (my water shoes) because he wears them every Wednesday at school on water-play-day!

Watering the Plants!! aka Free Labor!!

Mommy's flowers (or flow-ners in Kiefer speak) always looked so bad in the backyard. That is until we realized that someone in the Basler household in Burbank actually has a green thumb.

We like to think of it that way instead of free child labor. Kiefer likes to water the plants...he really does... And the dirt, and the fence, and over the fence into the neighbors yard, but MOSTLY the flow-ners...

Kiefer and the backpack!

Our next door neighbor Liam gave Kiefer his old backpack.
Kiefer is beaming with pride and seems so old in this picture, doesn't he?

Oh they grow up sooooo fast!

:-)

Kiefer in the grass!

Isn't this just the greatest picture?

Santa Barbara!!

So Grandpa Pierre came to visit and we actually took one whole day off from projects around the house to go to beautiful Santa Barbara CA for the day!

Kiefer loved the fountains and was so full of energy after the long car ride that when mommy found an open square he literally ran in circles! Oh so much fun!

The Basler men in SB!

Kiefer Basler likes Santa Barbara!

Time to RUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!

Kiefer at Zuma Beach

We headed to the ocean at Malibu's Zuma Beach last weekend. Escaped the heat of the valley for a day. Kiefer loved the huge sandbox, but was not sure about the ocean. For several days afterwards, he kept saying "Waves come in, Daddy get wet, COLD". It was a great day!

Olde Timey Kiefer!

At Kiefer's school they did one of those old time photo sessions.
Yes, we did end up buying a set!

They were able to get a couple really great smiles out of him...and yes, I did scan them all in before returning them.
Is that wrong when the pictures are sooooo cute?

Kiefer and the Pony!

At Kiefer's school they do many, many amazing things...
They even had ponies come to the school.
Kiefer was afraid at first. Then he got on like a CHAMPION!

He likes to walk around and snort and say "This is what the horsie say- SNORT!"

Kiefer's Birthday! (2 + months late)

My friend Deborah took some amazing pictures at Kiefer's birthday party. These are some very quick scans of the pictures, but thought that we should share them with you!

Kiefer and his truck...

Daddy taking some Flip Video. I got so busy that I actually did n't shoot that much video that day...but this is such a cool shot. Kiefer is starting to eat watermelon in this picture. He ate about 2 full watermelons as the day wore on!

Quiet time with Daddy....
